Can you give me some pointers on promoting sports betting in the US?

I have been reading about the World Cup, and why is it that one team can win multiple cups in one season? I do not understand at all!

Here is the US, our "football" season in one...and theres only one prize..the Superbowl, which i can promote easily cause i understand it, but to promote something that i don't fully understand myself would be a waste of time for me to promote,...so help in needed.
