Finally men, a sport we can all get behind

or rather, that we'd like to be behind.

you gotta love it. the LFL.

Hot women dressed in very few clothes, going full speed contact, and throwing around a ball to boot.

It truly can't get any better than that.

Or can it? I didn't see whether it was all inside or if they play outside too, where as any good football fan knows .. it becomes a mud bath when it rains.

Thinking of that; I'm surprised they didn't add that the last 10 yards on each side of the goal line is a mud wrestling pit. (insert shaking head smilie here).

The story is that this started out as a publicity deal and since then has morphed into a real 10 team league with a super bowl that splits 100k between the 7 woman team (that's on the field, no idea how many travel with it but I assume there are at least 14)

What I find curious most, is that why is it the mens league need to wear all those protective pads etc, and the women can play in a bra and short-shorts?

*they do wear shoulder pads and a helmet.

lol. I saw it on some tv show when I was walking thru the room.

pretty hard to not notice extremely nice backsides sticking out of a huddle of shoulderpads and helmets.

And you should see those shorts. they had to be invented by a blood relative to the thong inventor.

(I can't resist)

This is why so much time and money is lost to *** every year. It went from my mentioning it to googling it, getting the link (which admittedly took only about 10 seconds, but the hour and half I lost watching the game and viewing the players was extreme).

This is the kind of thing you don't let your employees know about until they are leaving for home on Friday night. Which ironically enough is when these games are suppose to be played.

The only league in the world where there are more signed up to be towel boys than to actually be playing.

I just got back from watching a bit more. What keeps those shorts from sliding off during a tackle?

You know ... I once saw some photos of Raider fans (girls, I think) who appeared to have their tops painted on instead of actual jerseys.

Maybe those shorts are painted on?

on a side note: I can't believe Pat has let us get away with this much boy talk without chiming in, but perhaps we've finally found a way to leave her speechless?

Its American Football not football, football belongs to us, you lot got american football.

Significant difference

One uses hands takes hours to finish and all the so called men were padding.

The other uses feet is finished in half time and played by real..........

Actually i wont finish that part because the way they roll around on the floor screaming like babies they are hardly men either.

Now Rugby

While I'm 100% with you, Bet Partners, on which sport should be called 'football', we both know that all of those team games that involve kicking a ball with your foot are forms of football.

That covers Aussie Rules (which, apparently, was the first codified form of the game), Gaelic football, Rugby Football, American Football and, of course, soccer. They are all football games.

As far as I'm concerned 'football', in the Manchester United vs Barcelona sense of the word, should be the only type of the game to be allowed to call itself 'football' without any qualification However, I think we need to accept that all those other sports are also forms of football too.

I'm happy that Americans and Australians - who, locally, both have other more popular forms of football - call it soccer. The reason is this: this allows the beautiful game to grow in both those countries without local confusion.

Soccer seems to be growing as a spectator sport in both the US of A and Australia, and I, for one, think this is a good thing.
