Well its official, Visa has followed MC Lead and is now blocking all gambling transactions. What i don't understand about this alot of webmasters are saying that once the ban has been lifted on gambling in the US, they think the credit card companies will lift their ban also, but i don't see this happening because as far as i am concerned, this was a given anyway?
When i receive credit cards here in the US, the terms and conditions have ALWAYS said you were not allowed to use the "card" for any gambling transactions, We can even buy lottery tickets or scratch off tickets with credit cards, never were able to......so they are just backing up the rest of thier t&c's with this new enforcement, it really doesn't have to have anything to do with the government ban?

since those new laws for cards when into effect(yesterday). I would guess that when the card companies went to look at implementing these new laws they decided to fix the gambling transactions getting through at the same time.

can people still buy prepaid cards and use them to deposit?
Ifso, then tell your surfers to set up a separate bank account for their ewallet to transfer money INTO, but they should never use it to deposit. I've heard that works pretty good because banks are much less likely to hassle money coming in, as long as its not coming from some place suspect, such as a place you've paid money in to them. because usually, money goes one way or the other, seldom does it bounce back and forth between parties unless its gambling or the occasional refund for service/product, and I'd imagine that is noted so it would not figure into the equation of looking for money going back and forth. I hope prepaids can still work.

I think all you Americans should just move up here to Canada. Our banks are happy to accept checks (cheques in Canadian English) from casinos. And most E-wallets still work here!
PLUS We're the nicest nation on earth... We have awesome health insurance compared to America... And we're gonna kick US butt in Olympic hockey...

This is horrible news, if in fact it is Universal, and not confined to the individual banks who issue these cards. Of course, this is my worst depositing month in over 5 years, so it looks like this ban and the MC ban have taken hold.

worst for me too.
I think we need to push everyone to further educate players about the benefits of buying prepaid cards. I can't imagine them not working. Well I can, but I don't like it. my visa debit card has worked right up to the end of Feb to add funds to qt,

I have a "wired plastic" card which is a visa and the best thing about this card is it gives you your own "banking account number and routing number" so you can deposit with them but when its time to withdrawal you do so as an "wire transfer" to this bank account number which is really the debit card. Works great for me with affiliate programs and casinos.

I would love to move to Canada for those very reasons, but my husband wants to move to Mexico, or wherever it's warm. ![]() Congratulations on the hockey Gold. If USA had to lose, I'm glad it was to Canada. It was a great game. Quote:
I had never heard of "wired plastic" cards before. I googled it and a million ads came up. I was confused. Is it just one company, or are there dozens offering the same thing? Can you tell me what bank or company you got yours from? Is there a restriction on the amount you can deposit to the card by bank wire? Or withdraw at one time? Do you have any trouble using it at ATMs or stores? I am very interested in getting one, especially to use for bank wires for affiliate commissions. (If I ever make any actual money, of course). Thanks. Diana |
