I'm fairly new to facebook. the casino I happened upon was none other than VegasSlotscasino
Okay I have questions: it says you can create a page about anything if you go about it as an unofficial fan. What is the policy amongst the sponsors about an eagerly ambishious aff starting up an unofficial page about the casino and then since the casino has settings so that nobody can write on their wall ... well the aff could start up the unofficial fan page and open the wall for friends to be able to say what they want ... and then you could push the fact that the casino has sisters ... and have the reader visit your site to follow a link from there ... or put the aff code directly on the facebook page (I haven't checked their terms, ... I'm just throwing this stuff out there to talk about) In essence ... I see a moral dillema and admittedly I'm due for some sleep so my ethics are a little worn like the rest of me. by starting such a page you're almost guaranteed to be getting "friends" whom are already familiar with the casino namesake and likely are tagged to another aff. I know, we compete for players whom have been tagged to other casinos (sisters in the network) every day but this is different because the "fan" page is going to be a collection of proven players (need I say, very desired) whom can be siphoned over to play at a sister casino. ... maybe I'm way off here. I view facebook as ... basically a mini-me ... version of the internet. (That's kinda how I view any place that gives you a page, or free hosting for your site - as a miniature version of the net itself). So if I view it as a mini-net, then in that case I guess I don't see anything wrong with setting up a "fan" page, collecting "friends" and in the end be scheming to get them over to a sister casino where they'd be tagged under my ID ... because I sure wouldn't see anything wrong with somebody that set up a website devoted to discussing a certain casino and then advertising its sister casinos to the readers. Nothing wrong with that is there? What's the difference? Somehow the facebook plan doesn't feel right. but that said: what really is the difference?

Steve from my knowledge about facebook you can treat it just like you would a blog..meaning you can put links up of what ever you want...i see plenty of people and casinos writing on their walls with links in them for people to click and go to thier sites or their affiliated site...so my answer is ....go for it!
Start up a facebook page and put up whatever you want...everyone is doing it and its already competitive so you and i should be competing for new players also. I see nothing wrong with it...and i am sure everyone would be doing it if they had the time or knowledge. I want to do the same, someday...but can't decide which programs i want to push that hard yet.... But if you have an idea of who and your own unique style of writing about them and advertising i am positive you will get great results....

I'm not sure how this all works yet but I'll tell you a few different points I am familiar with.
I use spacebook normally to keep in touch with my family and friends. I don't use it for Casinos and advertising but I can see how it would be a great way to get the word out there. Here is the Poker Nations fan page and I think Anthony does a great job with it? xxhttp://www.facebook.com/pages/PokerNations/89670384894?v=wall So if its me, I would do it for casino ads and whatever but I would also keep it seperate from my normal account to. Hope that make some sense?

Hi and thanks for the feedback,
I was beginning to wonder if I was really "out there" because it still made sense to me after getting some sleep. (you know .. they warned me that I'd get out there one day .. and never make it back) I feared that day had come. ![]() ..... Well so far I"ve just been seeing old high school friends (I live less than 5 miles from where high school was .... and have never made it to one reunion -pretty much par, I lived same distance when I was a teenager and I attended school about as much.. but despite my problems with attendance ... I got along with everybody, and of course its been great to see them. That said, just in my short course of adding friends, requesting them, and dropping some personal notes to people, I already ran onto the vegasslotscasino.com page, and I've been spammed by a couple of gambling places which I never heard of before. so although they aren't allowing advertising ... there's plenty getting done. Well thanks again for the input. I can now go at this without any guilty feelings. Cheers

I would try it, and if you get slapped, you can plead ignorance. Facebook's recent proclamation of banning gambling ads probably means that the Facebook police will be out full-force eventually, to ban such types of links as well. What's the worst that they can do....ask you to remove these links ? OK, if they ban you (doubtful it would happen), you can always open up a new account.

Although They did ban gambling ads, this didn't apply to fan pages for now. I did read about it somewhere and I'll try to find out more details on it today.

I'm thinking if they aren't there yet (and they weren't, last I checked) that at some point between now and legal in USA, they'll do much like everything else has done, (ref-Google) and allow the pages to exist but not allow them to link to any sort of gambling site. ie: you do like I do with google adwords, and request the readers type in your url (not a recommended choice for gaining traffic by my experience but even that is a tainted statement because the only way you could truly judge a campaign like that is if you had the surfers type in an address devoted to counting the incoming visitors... from one or select few locations.
but hey if they stop allowing the links it wouldn't be that hard to adjust the pages you had already created .. so that at least the readers could type in your desired end result.
